Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Am I going to die if I do a High Adventure Race?
A. Maybe. It depends on the level of difficulty of the race, your skill and level of physical fitness, and an infinite number of unknown factors that we can’t control. That’s why we have you sign your life away on our liability form.
In all seriousness, with our average race, the chances are very slim that you will ever face more than normal exposure to danger in any form. Of course, our more intensive races can include some pretty scary elements, but you’ll know when you’re ready to take on such a challenge.

Q. I’m not a very adventurous type. I don’t do a lot of outdoors activity, I’m not really in shape, and I don’t want to come close to dying just to experience a thrill. Are High Adventure Races for me?
A. Absolutely. We create an ongoing series of races, each one designed for different levels of skill and ability. We have something for everyone, and we urge you to come be part of the fun.

Q. Is this something that my family can do together?
A. . It depends on how the race is designed. Some races are for teams of two and include hardcore elements, while others are for families of four or more and are more doable for the average family. See the Scale of Difficulty and each race description for more details. Level 1 and 2 races are ideal for family activities.

Q. What type of liabilities are involved with adventure racing?
A. Again, it depends on the level and type of the race. Regardless, each participant for every race is required to sign a liability waiver releasing High Adventure Racing™ from all liability.

Q. How can I know which race fits me best?
A. Read the Scale of Difficulty found here.

Q. What if I have a suggestion for possible race elements to incorporate?
A. Let us know as soon as possible. We’re always open to suggestions that add to the fun and the challenge.
